About Başakşehir

Başakşehir is Istanbul planned rather than accumulated. Laid out in phases on open land in the north-west, it is a district of wide streets, numbered stages, parks and low density, with none of the coastline or the history that shape the older parts of the city. What it offers instead is space and predictability — apartments with parking, family compounds with playgrounds, and a large city hospital campus that has become a landmark in its own right. Bahçeşehir, at the district's western end, is the established pocket for expatriate families: villas with gardens, private international schooling nearby, and a man-made lake at the centre of the neighbourhood. Kayaşehir to the north is the newest phase and the fastest-changing, now served by the M3 metro, which terminates at Kayaşehir Merkez. The district is inland, so there is no sea view to pay for, and the drive to Istanbul Airport is short and simple — useful for buyers who travel frequently. Prices sit in the lower half of our range, close to Beyoğlu on a per-square-metre basis but buying considerably more floor area and far newer construction. The trade-off is atmosphere: this is a quiet, residential, car-oriented part of the city, and buyers who want street life should look elsewhere.
