Ceilings are high for the size of the flat, which makes the single reception room feel larger than its floor area suggests. The building is old and communal areas are plain; there is no lift. Tenants should be realistic about noise. Karaköy is a busy, working part of the city with restaurants and bars that stay open late, and while the flat faces the courtyard rather than the street, weekend evenings are audible. In exchange, the location is exceptional for anyone without a car: the T1 tram, the Tünel funicular up to İstiklal, and ferries from Karaköy pier to Kadıköy and Üsküdar are all within a few minutes on foot.
